Election Resources

What It Is: A hub from Business for America providing seven strategies to build a "voter culture" at work, plus a curated set of five digital tools — BallotReady, Civic Alliance, Motivote, Time To Vote, and VoteAmerica — that companies can adopt to support employee registration, voter education, and turnout.

Why It Matters: BFA grounds its case in three concrete facts: work commitments consistently rank as a top obstacle to voting; "my employer" remains one of the world's most trusted institutions — far more trusted than government or media; and company communications offer one of the most consistent platforms for reaching people in an increasingly complex and biased media ecosystem.

How to Use It: BFA's seven strategies distill to three practical moves: share nonpartisan voting resources early and often so employees trust you as a source; recognize Election Day or offer flexible "civic hours" so voting doesn't compete with work; and make participation social and celebratory, from registration drives to poll-worker volunteer opportunities. Pair with one of the five listed digital tools — Time To Vote for a low-lift pledge, BallotReady or VoteAmerica for deeper voter-education integration — to put these into practice.

ArticleHarvard Business Review

Strine and Lund argue that political spending hurts shareholder interests because it increases risks, is not transparent, and correlates with lower financial performance. They make the case that companies should either end all spending, obtain shareholder consent, or limit expenditures to PACs (which are strictly voluntary and have mandated disclosure).
