Across the Aisle: How Leaders Find Common Ground in a Divided Era

Business for America’s “Across the Aisle” roundtable brought together cross-sector leaders from business, government, and public affairs to answer pressing questions such as:  “What role should business play in politics? What does effective engagement look like in this era of distrust, gridlock, and rising political risk? And how can business leaders help rebuild the political center — where collaboration and progress can still thrive?” The event highlighted the importance of focusing on common goals, convening diverse voices, and building trust through cross‑sector collaboration. 

The top 10 takeaways focus on business as a stabilizing force in turbulent times; the risks of staying silent; political instability as a business risk; clear values drive principled engagement; there is no universal playbook but there is a path forward; and business engagement can’t wait.
