Manu Meel Receives 2026 Peter E. Haas Award for Public Service from UC Berkeley
BridgeUSA CEO, CPR Hub Advisor and host of weekly podcast “The Hopeful Majority” Manu Meel received the 2026 Peter E. Haas Award from his alma mater, University of California, Berkeley, in recognition of his significant and impactful contributions to improving society through community and social service. As an advisor of several civic organizations, including The CPR Hub, Manu’s BridgeUSA has grown its youth-led movement to 125 chapters in 41 states, empowering more than 30,000 students to seek understanding to move past political polarization, honor diverse perspectives and bridge differences through constructive conversations.
William Ury’s Book Possible to be Fictionalized in a Feature Film
Co-author of “Getting to Yes”, co-founder of the Harvard Program on Negotiation, and CPR Hub Advisor William Ury is slated to executive produce a fictional adaptation of his acclaimed conflict resolution book, 2024’s “Possible: How We Survive (and Thrive) in an Age of Conflict”, in partnership with international entertainment studio MFF & CO. Ury is also a renowned dispute and negotiation expert – much of which will inspire the fictionalized film. While the original book focuses on a practical “Path to Possible” conflict resolution framework, the forthcoming project will center on an anthropologist and negotiator who works on the world’s most volatile disputes and challenges.
Erik Wohlgemuth Receives DuMonde New York Moves Sustainability Award
This year’s social, political and lifestyle magazine Moves acknowledges Erik Wohlgemuth with the DuMonde New York Moves Sustainability Award for his ability to build bridges across sustainability disciplines to create shared and human-centric solutions. CPA-Zicklin Team Featured in Directors and Boards Article, The New Rules of Political Spending Oversight
Rising reputational, legal and shareholder risks are pushing boards to treat political spending as a governance priority. Last month's “The New Rules of Political Spending Oversight” highlights this rise as evidenced in the most recent edition of the CPA-Zicklin Index of Corporate Political Discourse and Accountability, led by The CPR Hub Advisory Board Member Bruce Freed, an annual benchmarking report of the political disclosure and accountability practices of the largest U.S. public corporations. In short, recognition by these companies that corporate political contributions pose significant risk and must be governed accordingly. Among many risk points and insights, the 2025 Index reports:
A 400% increase of “trendsetter” companies whose policies provide for disclosure and oversight, from 28 in 2015 to 112 currently;
Adoption of formal governance structures by corporate leaders is the best way to exercise control over spending;
Employee dissent connected to candidates or causes the company is perceived to support is a growing concern.
Over the years, the “CPA-Zicklin Index” has shown that companies have successfully created internal practices to govern their corporate political spending.
